Call For Entries: CRM (Constituent Relationship Management) Software

Matt Stauffer

There are many ways to manage our donor and alumni communications, but few encompass the entirety of our interactions. Contact management software like Outlook and Apple Mail can manage their contact information, our national organizations often manage donation history, and sometimes advanced spreadsheets can allow us to manually manage more detailed information… but many staff long for a unified system that manages all of this information in one place.

The business world has a type of software called “CRM” software which manages a business’ interactions with a particular “constituent” (in our case, donor or alumnus) in a variety of ways, including contact information and a history of interactions.

Many campus ministers have worked to adapt CRM tools to their donor tracking. We’d love to feature your experiences with CRM software. Have you tried SalesForce? Daylite? BigContacts? Please leave a comment letting us know what you tried, and if you don’t mind, we’d also love to know about your experiences and maybe contact you for an interview.
